How to Prepare for Your Botox Appointment
Mar 03, 2023

According to Insider, in 2020, there were 4.4 million Botox procedures completed. If you've booked your first Botox appointment recently, you may be wondering what to expect. Continue reading for a few tips that can help your appointment go smoothly.

Wear Something Comfortable

When it comes to a Botox injection appointment, you'll want to be comfortable. There may also be some bleeding associated with your appointment, so it's best to wear a dark-colored top that you don't mind getting damaged. Loose pants are also a good idea. Just imagine that you're going somewhere where you want to feel good and not have your clothing be a distraction. A Botox injection appointment can typically last anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes, so also bear that in mind as you plan your outfit. There's no reason to feel like you need to dress up, it's more important to feel comfortable.

Eat Something Before Your Appointment and Come Hydrated

It's important to come to your appointment fully hydrated. You'll also want to have a bite to eat, so don't show up to have your Botox injection on an empty stomach. There can be some blood and discomfort associated with your appointment, so it's possible for some people to experience unwanted effects from the injection, such as fainting. In order to avoid this, be sure to drink plenty of water and have something to eat prior to your appointment. You'll be glad you did!

Avoid Certain Medications and Supplements Prior to Your Appointment

Your
Botox injection can cause bruising. By avoiding a few different supplements and medications in the days leading up to your appointment, you can lessen the chance of this happening to you. If you are on any prescribed medications, you will want to continue taking those as advised by your doctor. Be sure to also include any relevant information about prescription medications when filling out your intake forms. About a week before your appointment, you may want to stop taking fish oil and Omega3 supplements along with ginseng and Gingko Biloba, ginger, and Vitamin E. It may be better to take Acetomenaphin rather than Ibuprophen and Naproxen during the two days before your appointment.

There's no reason to worry before your first Botox appointment, but it's normal to want to feel prepared. We're here to answer any questions that you have before or after your appointment. Contact us at Sariel Aesthetics today. We look forward to hearing from you!
